Print On Demand Business Model Introduction

I have been noticing an interesting online business model and I been planning to venture into it at a later time after I settle my project on hand.

Back to the business model, I heard a lot of people who want to start an online business said, I want to sell stuff online and make a lot of money. I said great, what your business model? Some of the answers I received is I want to sell fashion products, or baby products, or other kinds of physical products. Great, what makes you different from others who sell online? I will also ask how can you compete with the price in Online Marketplaces such as Amazon, Taobao, Lazada and Shopee (The 2 Main Marketplace Player in Malaysia and Asian country)?

Then I notice this business model call Print On Demand. It has the same benefits as the Dropshipping E-commerce model such as

1.low startup capital,

2. no inventory, and

3.delivery by the supplier to consumers directly.

4, Furthermore, you can differentiate yourself by your own product design style. So you can have your own Unique Selling Point (USP) Products.

This is a model that requires slightly more work than the Dropshipping models and this is the step that helps you differentiate yourself from your competitor.

Some of the cons of this model are

1. Limited product type compares to the drop shipping model – if this is your own E-commerce store you can always do a hybrid model.

2. Slower delivery time – so you need to prepare your customer with this.

3. Not as high margin when you stock your stock but a lower inventory risk for you.

There no perfect models but I think this model suitable for most people.
